We went to Malacca to sketch and documents the physical and intangible qualities of the buildings as well as the immediate context of the site. Individually, we sketched the plans, sections and elevations of Lot 40-42 Laksamana Shophouses that we have measured, as an expression of the understanding of the building. From there, we explored other parts of the building and its context to capture the genius loci, poetic quality and cultural attributes of the place.
